DAXXIFY IS HERE!
We are thrilled to be one of the FIRST in the world (and first in Lincoln Nebraska) to be able to offer the next level in neurotoxin treatments! Daxxify (Daxxi) was FDA approved in September for the relaxation and treatment of facial expression lines and it will be available THIS WEEK AT CITRINE. Here’s a quick overview of what it is and why you may want it!
Daxxi is the newest formulation of botulinum toxin Type A. All other FDA approved products in the United States are also botulinum toxin Type A. These medications work in the same way, however instead of using human albumin as stablizer, Daxxi uses peptide exchange technology. The peptide acts as a magnet per say, to attract & anchor the botulinum toxin A to its target. This is what mazimizes how long the results last and overall effectiveness of Daxxi compared to other neuromoduators. Daxxi is also the first and only neuromodulator to be manufactured in the United States. So, what exactly does this mean for patients?
~Treatments with Daxxify last an average of 6 months and up to 9 months in some patients. This translates into convienience and fills the gap for our patients who have been asking for a longer lasting neurotoxin. A significant amount of patients have been requesting a longer lasting product for many years!
~Because there are not any human or animal products attached to or used in the manufacturing process, allergies to Daxxify are not a concern.
~The absence of any human serum albumin proteins also means patients treated with Daxxi are less likely to develop antibodies to the medication.
~Daxxify is safe. The clinical studies included the largest patient population of all neurotoxin studies. There were no new or unexpected adverse events in the patients treated with Daxxi.
~Patients who have been treated with Daxxify report it feels extremely light without the heaviness that some patients have experienced with other neurotoxins.
~Early investigators have also noticed an enhanced skin appearance (decreased appearance of pores, improved texture and an overall healthy skin glow have been reported) in patients treated with Daxxi.
~Is Daxxi more expensive? Daxxify is an innovative, premium medication with a more modern neurotoxin technology. Because patients will be treated twice per year on average, each treatment cost will be more expensive than other neuromodulators, but what you are paying overall in a year will most likely be less.
Daxxify is initially only being offered at exclusive medical aesthetic practices throughout the United States. Kerri Otto, PA-C was chosen as one of the 1% of national injectors to offer Daxxify.
