Questions on Laser Hair

Answering Common Questions about Laser Hair Removal

Citrine has been providing PAINLESS hair removal to the Lincoln and surrounding areas for the past 3 years! We are experts in effective and painless hair removal. We are going to discuss some of the most common questions we receive regarding laser hair removal.

How many sessions does it take?

On average, laser hair removal takes 6-10 sessions to see a reduction of 80-90% hair. You will notice an improvement and decrease in overall hair after just ONE treatment! Hair starts to thin out and grows back slower in between sessions. Treatments are scheduled every 4-8 weeks, depending on the area being treated.

Does it hurt?

Most laser hair removal devices in the Lincoln market are still very uncomfortable. These patients are told “it’s just a slight rubber band snap, but it’s not that bad”, when in reality not everyone can tolerate that sensation. At Citrine Medspa, we pride ourselves on having the best technology for all procedures! Laser hair removal included, which is why we only use “in-motion” technology for our hair removal. This makes the treatments very comfortable and 100% pain free! There is no “hot rubber band snap” that is felt when receiving a treatment at Citrine Medspa. No stress balls or icing needed either!

How long do treatments take?

Our laser hair removal device is very quick and efficient. Treatments on the face typically take 15 minutes. It takes about 30 minutes to treat brazilian or lower legs. Underarms are very quick and take about 15 minutes total!

Anything special I need to do afterwards?

Aftercare treatment is very simple and straightforward. You should avoid hot tubs, saunas, hot baths, and intense workouts for 24 hours afterwards. If the area is irritated, be sure to avoid shaving until this has subsided. Sun exposure must be avoided in the treated area for 2 weeks, or covered up with clothing/SPF if outside.

Do I have to grow out my hair before my appointment?

This is a commonly asked question from patients that were waxing previously. You absolutely do NOT have to grow out your hair and we do not want you to! You can shave as much as you want in between your laser treatments. You are required to shave the area you want lasered at least 24 hours before your appointment. The shorter the hair, the more effective the treatment will be!
