SHED THE DEAD

Chemical peels at Citrine Medspa are top notch and yield amazing results. There are hours of training, thought, and experience that goes into a chemical peel for patients at Citrine Medspa. Patients are able to message their providers and send photos at any time of the day through our patient app. This ensures the best patient experience and outcomes with chemical peels.

How to prepare: Schedule a consultation with our office to discuss your specific skin goals.  Start a customized medical grade skincare regimen. This should be used at least 4-6 weeks prior to the peel for best results. Start prescription strength tretinoin (Retin A) or a medical grade Retinol of 0.5% or greater for at least 6 weeks before the chemical peel to properly prep the skin to optimize results.

What to expect during it: ZO 3-Step Peel is applied to the skin in layers. The ZO 3-Step Peel is a medium depth peel. It is composed of 10% TCA, 17% salicylic acid, and 5% lactic acid. There will be a warm and burning sensation during the treatment, and for approximately 10 minutes afterwards. Patients will receive a cooling fan throughout the treatment and afterwards to help relieve any discomfort that may occur. A 6% retinol cream is applied immediately following the peel. This helps to drive the peel deeper into the skin, providing medical grade results.

What to expect afterwards: Skin will feel tight the day following the peel. Peeling will start 48 hours and lasts approximately 5 days. Skin will be sensitive to the sun and a physical sunscreen with a SPF of at least 50 must be worn daily. Strenuous exercise and sweating should be avoided until the skin is healed. Do NOT peel off or pick the peeling skin because this can damage the skin. Skin may be trimmed using a clean pair of scissors or “rolled off” using ZO hydrating creme.
